Team Players
Below you will find a brief introduction of each of the team members and a listing of their responsibilities on the project.
MAUREEN BREILING, aka Mars, received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Santa Clara University in June 1999. She was the project manager of Artemis and designed the VLF Receiver and antenna connections. In her free time she drinks lots of caffeine, and is in a constant muse for happiness.
DINA HADI received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Santa Clara University in June 1999. On the Artemis team, she was in charge of attitude control and was the liason with Mars on the antenna design. She also worked with Theresa on the structural design and antenna deployment. In her spare time she likes to play hoops and chill with the fam n' friends.
CORINA Y. HU received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Santa Clara University in June 1999. She was the systems engineer for the Artemis Picosatellite Project and was in charge of the sensor subsystem. She enjoys playing the piano, reading, and listening to music in her spare time.
THERESA KUHLMAN received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Santa Clara University in June 1999. She was in charge of materials as well as thermal and radiation analysis. She worked jointly with Dina in the structural and antenna design. In her spare time, Theresa enjoys playing soccer, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
DUNCAN LAURIE is the God of Computer Engineering. He was responsible for the flight code of the three picosatellites, along with interns, Erik Jonsson and Robbie Schingler. Duncan likes to go days without sleeping. Erik doesn't like frogs or slurpees, Robbie likes frogs, and Duncan's pet snake eats frogs.
AMY SLAUGHTERBECK received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Santa Clara University in June 1999. She was in charge of the power subsystem for Artemis. Her other interests include competition swimming and hiking, her favorite being the Panorama Trail in Yosemite.
ADELIA VALDEZ received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Computer Engineering at Santa Clara University in June 1999. She was in charge of the communication subsystem for Artemis. In her spare time, she likes to read, play tennis, and run. When she is not working on the satellite project, she finds time to go swing dancing with her friends.
